Onyx is a metamorphic rock that is formed from the metamorphism of limestone. The main mineral that makes up marble is calcite. One prominent feature of marble compared to other types of stones is its ability to transmit light, which is itself a reason for the high value and price of this type of stone. We know ordinary marbles with low calcite content in various colors under the trade name Onyx. Due to their transparency, marble stones are widely used in the production of decorative items. In Iran, the variety of Onyx in terms of pattern and color is unique and distinctive.
